What could a mile do for you?

Grouchy. I was just feelin’ it. A little restless from being at work when I would like to be buying and planting flowers. I mean, I could hear the weeds growing from my office! Little things were annoying me that wouldn’t normally.

Luckily, I had a change of clothes and my walking shoes in the SUV. I drove thru DQ, fueled up with a cheeseburger and MINI-Blizzard, and hit the trails.

It is what it is – a favorite saying of mine. Change what you can change; accept what you cannot. Walk off the rest. Let it go. I saw an indigo bunting and a chipmunk! I reminded myself that it was a blessing to have the ability to walk. I was thankful that I work so close to the beautiful General Dacey Trails. I don’t work in skyscraper and breathe smog. It’s a good day.

So, I didn’t walk long enough to burn off my lunch, but I did walk long enough to burn off my grouchy mood.

Life is good. It took less than a mile to remember it.

  1. A good walk with pretty scenery always perks me up too. Even better if it’s not raining.
