All too often it seems I have so many ideas, projects, to-dos and wanna-dos bouncing around in my head that I realize I need to pause and take a moment to gather my thoughts. Focus! Prioritize! This process can resemble trying to catch rain drops in a strainer. Or trying to herd pigs. If the house is quiet (I said it doesn’t happen often), it might eventually resemble a nap.
Lie down on the couch. Close my eyes. Eyes fly open – where did I put my cell phone? Locate the phone and turn it to vibrate. Lie down. Shut eyes. Oh shoot, the washing machine just shut off. Go transfer the laundry to the dryer, so I can concentrate. Lie back down. It would sure be nice to have the ceiling fan on. Turn the fan on. Lie down. A blanket would be perfect. Grab a blanket and get comfy. Shut eyes. OOF! The cat jumps on my stomach. Close eyes. What was I pondering? Ohh-so-drowsy… I start to plan my next project… several projects are jumbling together in my mind… am I awake or asleep? The backdoor bangs open and closed! “Hey Mommm!!! I need…” My project is forgotten for this new, pressing request.
