Summer Party in the Country

What do you do when it is 100 degrees in the shade?  Throw a party … outside!

Levi, my son, has started singing with a group of characters talented musicians.  They want practices in front of crowds.  I said, let’s combine a “practice” with my birthday and have a party!

In the country, when you have livestock you have flies.  Therefore, I wanted the food in the house.  After a couple of days of cleaning and shopping with help (thanks Molly, Maggy and Dakota) we pulled it off.  Thanks to my brother-and-sister-in-law (thanks Nick and Becky) we had a rack wagon stage.  Thanks to friends and family that were not afraid to brave the heat, we had a crowd!

Most of all, we had fun.  Great music, shade, food and drinks, family and friends = good times!

Setting up

A few of “my” kids.

My boys. Harmony! Wasn’t sure I would ever see it! 😉

  1. I have always wanted my family to be musical together. I tried giving them all piano lessons. Nope. There’s been flute lessons, drum lessons, middle school band, attempts to sing Christmas carols, and play duets. No dice. They have banded together to thwart me.
I’m sure listening to your kids made you very happy.
