I’ve felt a little sad of late with several contributing factors adding to my melancholy mood. This morning, I stumbled to the kitchen at 5:40 a.m., defiantly not getting up at 5:30. (I’ll show that mean ol’ alarm clock…)
Horrors! To my dismay, the timer on the coffee pot had not been turned on the night before! I grumbled my way into the shower. Feeling slightly less miffed after a hot shower, I walked back to the kitchen, smelling the fresh brew the whole way. I filled my ‘Life Is Good’ coffee mug and as I passed through the family room, I noticed the beautiful, morning sky. I grabbed the camera and stepped outside and said, “Good morning, Happy!” to our donkey.
I smiled as I thought, Now, how many people get to walk outside and greet Happy each day? Even if I’m not feelin’ it … it’s hard to be grouchy when you are saying, Hi Happy! I am blessed to have my little 5 acres.
Think about what you surround yourself with. Even subconsciously, those items may be affecting you; hopefully, in a positive way. It reminds me why I use Joy dishwashing detergent. I figure I need all the help I can get with having joy while washing the dishes! 😉
It is true. Find the beauty in everything. Makes life so much more enjoyable.
I bet you have a lot of joy in your kitchen (and house), Janie!
So true. I’m enjoying my morning by watching our kitten attack the computer screen while I type this. So funny! Her momma did the same thing when she was a kitten. Now it’s time to move the mouse (ha – mouse, kitten, get it?) around so she can chase the cursor. It truly is the little things.
Hey there! Glad to see you pop up in my Comments! I’ve been wondering about you … and missing your blogs. 🙂
