Here’s How I Roll

  1. I believe in working hard and taking time to smell the roses.  It isn’t all or nothing.  The challenge is balance.
  2. The other day I was the last to leave the office.  I couldn’t find the keys to the Trailblazer.  With my free hand, I searched my purse, my tote and even my lunch bag. I checked the vehicle. I couldn’t go back in the office, as the door locked behind me …   I decided I should call someone with keys to let me in the office. I realized I was holding my keys in the hand my phone was in.  Things like this happen all the time.  It doesn’t worry me.
  3. I’m a piler-upper and a stacker.  Not sure that I will ever be able to break myself of it.  Maybe it is a sign of optimism?  I am always thinking, “Someday I will have time to sort, file and/or make wonderful scrapbooks or very cool crafts.”
  4. Why is it hard to give ourselves permission to make mistakes?  I was talking with a friend about that – and I told her to give herself permission to make mistakes.  Pick yourself up.  Dust yourself off.  Repeat as necessary.
  5. If it isn’t terminal, don’t stress.
  6. Nothing says “Mama Bear” like wanting to protect your kids.
  7. Regarding #6, kids still need to be taught to work for rewards; they are not entitled to them.
  8. I love laughing really hard, laughing ’til I snort or the person I am laughing with snorts.  Then, it sets you off all over again.
  9. Sometimes when I don’t want to go to work, I remember how much Gary liked his work and how badly he wanted to return to work … and my attitude changes.  Just like that.
  10. When I’m struggling with a situation, I think of ways to make it sound humorous.  Once I make it humorous, it doesn’t seem like such a struggle.
  11. I love books; therefore I love Amazon.  What a world we live in!  Search a subject or genre … books galore!  Delivered to my door!  O Happy Day!  It makes me a little giddy.
  12. When something trivial is bothering me I like to remind myself “I can’t care!” from www.janiefoxtalks.blogspot.com .
  13. This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.  Psalms 118:24.  Note:  It doesn’t say, “If it’s a good day, rejoice and be glad.”

  1. I once lost my keys in my car WHILE I was sitting in my car. I’m glad to know I’m not alone in the whole losing-what-is-right-there thing!

  4. I love laughing too. I think that’s why I’m so thrilled when my kids tell a funny joke.
