Our local hospital (Shelby Memorial Hospital) asked me to speak at their Girls Night Out monthly event. Wow… I hoped and prayed I was up for it. It was for their Breast Cancer Awareness night.
My talk was on positive thinking, especially when we go through bad times. It is a choice we make and we build that positive-thinking “muscle” through daily choices.
I was blessed to see smiling and encouraging faces of family and friends in the audience. Thank you for caring enough to be there! Some couldn’t make it but sent sweet messages of support. I appreciated them all.
Before the evening was over, the breast cancer survivors (some were still actively in the throes of their battle) all stood at the front of the room and received a carnation.
They were a spunky group. Smiling. Courageous. Beautiful. Strong.
I’m proud to say my mother and mother-in-law were in that group.
Through my goal of hoping to inspire; I was inspired.
