When I saw my blogging-friend had been absent for awhile, I was sad. I had a feeling it was due to something being a-miss, as her blogs usually have an upbeat, funny aspect to them. I was drawn to her blog because of the title: workhomebalance. Is there such a thing?? Then, I was oh-so-glad to see she had posted a new blog (which she gave me permission to link and share):
http://workhomebalance.wordpress.com/2013/02/03/life-is-too-short-to-be-unhappy/
The title of this new blog was right up my alley! It is a short read that can be summed up by this profound passage:
So what did I learn? Sometimes it takes getting what I want to realize that I don’t really want it. I didn’t know until this experience that I value happiness over almost everything else.
I love that my writer-friend was brave enough to chase a goal/dream, make a change, then also admit that it wasn’t the right fit for her at this time in her life.
Never be afraid to dream. Never be afraid to “Go for it.” Never be afraid to say, “Ehh, that wasn’t what it was cracked up to be.” Life lessons are valuable….so is happiness.
That’s the sweetest thing to say. You are a friend indeed!
🙂 Glad to know you’re happy!
