Fun, Fall and Flexibility

My thermometer this morning says 46 degrees at 7 a.m.  That is 50 degrees cooler than it was just Wednesday!!  It’s an amazingly gorgeous, fall Saturday morning!

I didn’t post a Photo Friday because I was having too much fun:

After a morning of fun and fall, I had to be home for when the sprayer-rig arrived.  Another step accomplished for the pasture-planting preparation.  Mission-accomplished and so I thought, with my naive optimism, “Oh, I’ll just settle in for a teeny bit with a book.”

Hum a little Jaws music now…

Pig-farmer called me.

“Can you go pick up some pig-feed for the boar?”

He wants him fed a different feed ration than Bernice.

I sighed.  I hedged.  I squirmed and looked longingly at my book.

I said, sweetly, “Can I just ride along with you in the morning to get it?”

He sighed.  He hedged.  He squirmed and started to tell me his plans for Saturday.

I remembered, “Oh yeah….this is my job now.”

I took country roads all the way to the feed store and back and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

For today – be flexible!  You might just enjoy yourself.  😉

  1. Southernruralroute.wordpress.com says:

What kind of deal did you cut with Pig Farmer that YOU have to go get the pig food? Was it giving up your paying gig? I seem to remember you doing something like that. Loved the Jaws music in the story. It made me laugh.

  2. I don’t know what happened. I wrote 46 degrees and then it posted. What lovely weather you are having. Can’t wait to have some cool weather grace our area.

    Have a great day!
    Love, L.
