Good Monday morning, sunshine.
Last week was a bit extreme. First, came the coating of ice.
Then, the thunder rumbled in bringing lots of rain and wind. Luckily, we were not in the tornado’s path, but a very nice family that we know did not fare so well. Prayers for them as they clean up and rebuild.
We needed more straw, so Pig-farmer, Hunter and I picked that up Friday evening.
Saturday was … warm! Happy, the donkey, got restless and worked on a weak spot in his pen so that he could get in with Abigail and Pumpkin Pie. He and Abigail are not exactly friends. Pig-farmer and I got everyone re-situated and re-enforced the the weak spot. “Spring fever,” I said.
Yesterday, after Sunday school, church, a wonderful spaghetti fundraiser lunch and a nice nap, we trimmed the momma goats’ hooves and de-wormed them. I had not trimmed hooves yet. It went reasonably well. I probably erred on the side of not taking enough off. Pig-farmer held the goats while I bent and twisted at odd angles to trim. All the while, the kids were chewing on my hair, since I was bent upside down. They worked my pony-tail loose and I feared I would only have about half my hair left.
But, who could get mad?
Don’t put away the fuzzy blankets, yet. The forecast for the week showed not one day above freezing this week. >:{
We are warm here. I am so grateful for the warmth! It’s warm enough Terry even has the tractor out and has started disking the ends.

Wow! That is great to hear.
what a life you have 🙂
It is interesting, for sure!
That’s why I refuse to plant my garden until March 15, even in Florida. Just can’t trust the weather.
Our “frost free” date is supposed to be April 15th, but I don’t trust it. In the past, I have had strawberries get nipped on Memorial Day weekend!
I don’t trust our March 15 date, either. Doggone weathermen ought to be fiction writers.
I hope they are writing fiction…we are hearing rumblings about another snow/ice storm for this weekend. NOoooo!
While you were enjoying warmer temperatures here, we were enjoying even warmer temperatures in Texas. Then we came home 😦 Snow still lingering on the ground, freezing temperatures and more snow in the forecast. Ugh!!!
I’m glad you were at least able to experience warmer weather … to remember what it is like, anyway. 😉
I could just see them munching on your hair. No charge for the cut, either. 😉 Pretty kitty. That first picture looks a whole lot better–no snow?
Snow is almost gone … so we can start fresh today, according to the forecast.
I now have something to blame for my crazy hair!
