Yesterday / Today

Yesterday, the sweet little boy on the right

blew out candles (there should have been 19, but I could only find five. :/` )

While the one on the left accepted a scholarship of undetermined amount last night.

The one on the left also EE (Exceeded Expectations) during his practicum teaching observation yesterday.  His heart was singing; confirmed that he is “in the right spot.”

Happy, Proud … but sure wish their Dad was here to celebrate with them.

I suppose he is.

No, I know he is.

Yet, sometimes … I wish so badly they still had him in person, not only in our hearts and memories.

Today is dawning calm

and green!

We will also get an expert opinion on the project room’s floor!

Did I mention that my oldest son ripped up the remaining flooring in about 1/5th of the time it would have taken me?

Brute strength.

All staples and nails have been pulled.

The room is ready for the next step.

Like life, we patch the holes.

We know that the imperfections give us character.

Pride Beams down from heaven like rays of sunshine…You are doing a wonderful job with your boys. Strength that many could never muster. 🙂

  4. Congrats and happy Birthday. The 5 candles made me smile – we forgot to buy candles before our 13 yr old’s party, so we had a fat votive candle plopped in the middle of the cake. It still worked..

    They are the right stuff

What a special post. Gary is proud of those boys and their awesome momma! Now I have to find a kleenex.

  7. Nice to meet you and your boys (I clicked over from Beth Ann’s) rather synchronistic since I share your pain about wishing “he was there.” In spirit is good enough but we know in person would be best of all. . .especially for our boys or in my case boy.

    • I appreciate your empathy … but wish you didn’t have to understand so well. It is what it is and is why I Just Make the Coffee. That got me rolling on many a dark morning. I am glad life is better now and hope you have better days, too.

Gosh, you made me cry! You are so wonderful Marla…I do believe with all my heart those on the otherside see much more than we know.

Wow, your son saved you a lot of work! I’m so glad the teacher is happy with where he’s headed.
