Come along and walk with me! I’m trying to get back in shape. A 15-minute walking mile is my goal. Two miles in 30 minutes with a short warm-up and cool-down added on. 40 minutes or less and done! So, I start early, before the heat and humidity build too much.
I like to think about the blessings of my life as I walk and also pray for the many that have requests. Sort of a walking devotional time. The first mile passes quickly.
I fly past a wheat field. I love wheat fields.
At the one mile mark, I turn to start back home. It’s a beautiful stretch of road I walk on. Then, there is this hill:
I don’t really love the hill. I notice the sound of a train in the distance. Oh. Wait. That is actually my breathing as I chug up the hill.
Made it!
There is a nice rustle of a breeze. Oh. Wait. That is actually the sound of my shorts rubbing together between my thighs.
I dab fling the sweat off my brow. Why-oh-why can’t I perspire or “dew” like a sweet, southern belle?
Whew. Almost home.
Then, time to get out of these sweaty, walking clothes and put on grubby clothes to do chores.
It’s a glamorous life.
I, too, (attempt to) walk every morning. I’ll have to measure my distance exactly. I try to walk 30 minutes. And I use it as a time for meditation too. I LOVE that time of day!
Wonderful! It makes such a good start to the day!
I don’t seem to “dew” either.
And you are a southern belle! Maybe that’s just a myth!?
Well, some southern belles are more defective than others…
LOL!
I love a nice prayer walk, surrounded by this glorious creation. Will have to get up earlier, though, it gets hot in a hurry. Had to laugh at the sound of the train. I was hearing that lone whistle off in the distance. LOL
I am actually less distracted (prayer-wise) when walking than in about any other situation…at least for the first mile. 🙂
You are hilarious! Love your blog and your sense of humor. keep up the good work….or walk!!!
Wonderful! Thank you! However, you caught me skipping my walk this morning. :O
