Good morning!
We’ve been getting some rain. Showers, not storms. Great news for July in Illinois.
Baby pumpkin at the base of the blossom. 🙂 I love watching the pumpkins develop.
“Good morning!” say the goats:
Today, it was Pumpkin Pie that provided my morning entertainment.
Here she is, early this a.m., in the east barn, where she gets her special feed twice a day. She and Happy have side-by-side pens. Happy is an un-gelded donkey (he isn’t neutered) … which means he has more of a propensity to be, well, an ass, so he isn’t allowed to run with the other animals. But he keeps very close eye on what everyone is doing.
Plus, he knows I give him any leftover crumbles Pumpkin Pie may leave. He stands by with hope in his eye.
Shortly after her breakfast and while I was eating mine, Pumpkin Pie got adventurous. She decided to explore a small paddock that she hadn’t bothered with before. It is on the west side of the house, straight away from my back deck. The view from my office this morning:
Pie was in a jolly good mood and I clicked several pics of her enjoying her new discovery. (I will post those soon, in another post.)
It wasn’t long before I heard Happy braying. He couldn’t see what was going on from his guard on the east side of the house. He was at full attention:
For today, be on guard for delightful moments!
Those pictures are my delightful moments! Love Happy!!! Thanks for making my morning!
HAPPY to oblige! 😉

I like your new banner photo of Pumpkin Pie in front of the corn.
Thanks! She was quite the model subject this morning.
Love all your pictures; glad I don’t have to choose my favorite! I’m happy you’re getting showers. Things are really dry where we are; there’s a chance for some rain later in the week, so we’re hoping that happens.
You didn’t even get rain from Arthur? I hope you get some nice showers, then!
I loved seeing the photos of Happy! He was taking his loss seriously!

He is very serious about his guard duties!
Had a heck of a storm here last night! Happy is adorable! lol
I hope you didn’t have (much) damage!
Not too much…a couple of screens torn off the house and a few shingles. All in all we are blessed!
The corn behind Pumpkin Pie looks good. I can’t wait to see what she was up to. It’s always good to find those little delights each day.
The corn is TALL! P Pie was having a blast.
