My mind nudges me. I must blog. ImustblogImustblogImustblog. It is therapeutic to me. Until I have problems loading the pictures, anyway. Friends and family have asked, “Are you still blogging? I haven’t seen one for a while.” A blogging-friend even took time to email me to check in, making sure I was okay. She made my heart smile.
My house yells at me. You must clean. You must clean. I can often shut it up by engrossing myself in a good book.
My body grimaces at me. You must exercise. No really. You must. You don’t have fat clothes in the next season’s choices. It is almost next season. Sometimes, that one can be quieted with really good chocolate or with the comfiest of yoga pants or pjs. The voice rises in pitch, tone and tenacity every morning while I am dressing for work. I am no longer ignoring it. Seriously. Wish me luck and much encouragement.
My Pig-farmer demands asks, “What’s for supper?” I say, “Supper? Oh, you mean you aren’t going to be traveling overnight on business tonight?” Dang it. I mean, “Oh, good! Is the popcorn I was planning on making for my supper good enough?” (Disappointment-filled pause … from both of us.) This voice doesn’t quiet easily. Throwing suggestions of yogurt or Lucky Charms at it doesn’t help. In fact, it starts to snarl at me. “Fine!” I say, “I will throw something together.”
Finally. I just do it. I make the photography and writing a priority. It feels good to visit with you again, to share my little world.
Here’s an interesting fact. The pictures shown above in this blog post were taken only six days before I sat on my deck with a cup of coffee and took the following photo.
Spring (pre-Spring) is funny that way. May many beautiful days be on the way for you to enjoy!
Glad your back

Thank you, Greg! I think … hope … regular exercise will help with my evening energy.
Oh my friend it’s good to see you! What a transformation in a week!
We have popcorn for dinner sometimes too. Best wishes with the work outs.
Thank you for checking in and making my heart smile. 🙂
You made my heart smile too by mentioning it.
I missed you.😊
I’m always glad to see a post from you! Good luck with the “eating better” plan; I started Jan 1, and am finally seeing some results.
Love your pictures, as always!
Thank you, Dianna! I should have started Jan. 1, but better late than never, I do suppose!
My understanding is that popcorn goes really well with scrambled eggs! 😉
Scrambled eggs are always good!
I have had every single one of those thoughts. Thanks for being honest and for sharing.
Thank you for reading and being supportive!
Has Happy been to the dentist? His face looks fat. Ugh, novocaine! Beautiful red cardinals. Birds are one of nature’s beauties that are elusive for me with my camera. Oh yeah, I must blog, clean the house, diet, weed, etc.
Happy, like me, has put on a few winter pounds! However, unlike me, I think most of his chubby cheeks are caused by still having his winter fuzz on.
So happy to hear from you! And I love your beautiful pictures. Hope all is well. You are always missed when you’re not here! Blessings to you. Take care and try not to be so hard on yourself …. all is well.
This comment sounds like you understand. Thank you for your kindness!
Love your post .. So pleased you are back! Wonderful images too .. Thanks for sharing
Thank you, Julie. I am trying to convince myself to get up earlier and write before work. So far it hasn’t worked very well. 😉 Tomorrow…
Such a great, last view of winter. The opening photo of the cardinal is amazing ~ such a beautiful bird and to catch him in the winter scene is brilliant.
Thank you – I took that picture through my dining room window.
Good to hear from you. As you can see, I’m running behind. Story of my life! LOL I was outside making the most of those warm days. Now I’m inside for a couple days, balance, right? I see you have a house of birdwatchers!
The birds are so enticing! I am glad you had some time outside. Ah, sweet spring.
