Well, sort of. I mean, it is definitely fall and there is definitely foliage. However, much of it is still green.
I’m not complaining. I will take the beautiful weather we’ve been having as long as God lets it stick around. My cousins in Houston would like to see the fall foliage, though. So, Pig Farmer and I went walking in Mom’s timber. {If we currently do not have pigs, can I still call him Pig Farmer? Or should I call him Larry? or the Hubs? }
The edges of the timber are getting their bling on.
Fern Hill is always, always, always beautiful.
It is quiet, soothing, peaceful.
The timber reminds me to slow down, breathe, look around.
Walk the path God has put you on.
After all, no one else can live your life for you.
The beauty is in the contrast. The color, the fullness, and even the lack thereof, the stately forms.
And the squiggles. Do you see the squiggly tree?
If I were a tree …. I’d probably look like that. Fatter, fluffier, though. Started out straight and narrow, then took some curves.
The beauty is there, even when we lose focus.
Thanks for walking with me friends!
Beautiful photos!! We don’t have fall colors yet, but soon. Perhaps a drive to the mountains for us this weekend??!
That squiggly tree is so cute.
I’m glad you see the cuteness in the squiggly tree. I would love for it to be in my yard! Hope you find your fall colors.
That was wonderful thanks for sharing and I like pig farmer it has lots off character

🙂 I hoped you and my Texas family would enjoy!
Thanks for the walk about! I loved seeing the squiggly tree especially and I think you and I are alike in what we would look like as a tree. Fluffier and rounder is not a bad thing. 🙂 Loved seeing your pics today so thank you for sharing!
Good morning, Beth Ann. I have decided I would rather be a little fluffy and sassy than skinny and sickly. 😉 Great to hear from you.
How fun! We are still quite green too, but we need rain again.
For some reason I get your posts by email, but they aren’t showing up in my reader. Sometimes I think WP gets confused!
I agree with WP comment, or maybe it is just me, being easily confused. However, I wouldn’t be happy about my Reader getting messed with…
Well, if they don’t fix it, I might have to unfollow, then refollow. It’s the only thing that has fixed it before. Yippee.
Good to know that, Wendy.
I vote for keeping the Pig Farmer name. I’m used to it; hard to teach an old dawg new tricks. Did the pigs go to market? Great photos, Marla! Especially liked the ones with the brown oak leaves partially covering some green moss (??).
Much easier to stick with Pig Farmer, in my thoughts too! Pigs have all gone to market or found new homes. Currently, with PF traveling so much for work, and me being back to work full-time, pigs are too much work and care to squeeze in during “free” time. I love that mossy cover. The ground feels like you are walking on a spongy carpet.
No, even without the pigs, Pig Farmer is still Pig Farmer!
It fits, doesn’t it! 😉
What a beautiful walk. The ground looks so pretty with a covering of colorful leaves. I especially like the fall lighting as it comes through the trees.
It felt like I was walking under staged-lighting! Nature provides the best beauty.
I love fall colors! We are losing leaves (E. Texas), but not much color change yet. Oh yes, and it’s still warm. Lol. 😉
We haven’t had our first hard/killing frost yet! Very unusual for central Illinois. I’m loving it!
We JUST got into the 70s as of this morning! Lol. It’s so weird.
