Sometimes, it’s the little things that brighten a week.
Like a frosty morning Happy hello.
It’s now daylight as I cross the Kaskaskia River on my drive to work.
And I love small towns. Especially my small town of Shelbyville.
This week I got to see the DQ parking lot filled with tractors and farm trucks as the FFAers celebrated FFA week. I wish I would have gotten a picture.
The first robins appeared in my yard.
My evening buddy.
And, just in case I ignore her, she will stretch for the attention,
knowing I can’t resist.
Working with people I can share laughs with.
Plus, the bonus of time, talks, walks, meals and church with my kids, family and friends. But, those are the BIG things.
May I not take any of it, them, for granted.
That is my hope for you this week, too, friends!
Are you sure Happy was saying hello? He might have been complaining about the cold. And all those tractors at the DQ — oh what a missed shot. I mean, just how often does one SEE that? –Living Rural in the City
Yes, that big intake of air Happy takes in order to bray had to be chilly! I regret not slowing down and taking pics at the DQ. I was in a hurry to get a week’s worth of errands done on my lunch hour. It sure made me smile, though. 🙂
I love that evening buddy stretching for you. 😀 I saw quite a number of robins at the botanical garden last week. I agree with your assessment of little/big things.
Thanks, Patti! Have a great week.

Oh your evening buddy is gorgeous .. love the stretch for attention 😃
If I don’t pay attention, she will extend the tiniest amount of sharp little claw and give me a tap!
