Finished!! October 17, 2020

The day dawned beautifully!

Since I work Monday – Friday, I was able to be home all day. Didn’t even need to make a parts run!

Clint sent me this pic of an over-achieving corn stalk.

I treated the crew to grilled ribeye sandwiches and still warm brownies for lunch. I highly recommend McCormick’s marinade seasoning packets!

Farming terraces takes extra time, but prevents soil erosion.

Then, I returned to the house to catch up on highly-neglected housework. I didn’t catch up. I still can’t even see the finish line!

Clint sent me a couple more pictures of his incredible views!

❤️

I made hot ham and Swiss sliders for supper. Forgot pics – but they were delicious!

A hard push at the end led to the last 4 rows!!

Ahhhhhh! Thank you God for a safe harvest!

Crop is in, but farm work will continue. Just not today, Sunday! Today we rest.

I hope you may rest today, friends!

    Congratulations, Marla!
Beautiful photos of your harvest, and incredible opening a sunset photo. Your post brings me back to my days when I ran a grain elevator in Eastern Oregon back in the day ~ and often when the farmers asked if I could work on Sunday (which I gladly did, one to support the farmers and also because I got time and a half of pay 🙂 ), they would always bring me part of their supper when the finished up. It made such a great impact on me, not just the delicious food but the feeling of being one of the team/one of the family. Granted…I do not remember ever getting grilled rib-eye 🙂 Beautiful and perfectly done. Enjoy your week ahead!
